University Teacher faces jail for offering pass mark in exchange for sex

A TEACHER at Malaga University is charged with asking one of his pupils to have sex with him in exchange for a pass mark in an exam she had failed.

The public prosecution is asking for 18 months in prison and seven years suspension as well as legal costs and €3,000 in compensation.

During the 2009-2010 term, the student took an exam, obtaining 2.75 out of 10, and went to see the teacher, who asked her for her phone number and arranged an appointment at his home, she claims.

It was her last chance to pass the exam.

When she got to his house, the teacher allegedly locked the door behind her and after talking about the subject, asked her what she would give him if he passed her.

She asked him to repeat the question and he answered “would you give me sex?” to which she responded by picking up her belongings and leaving.

He allegedly attempted to stop her and patted her down to see if she was wearing a recording device before letting her go.

On the same day, he reportedly gave her a pass mark on the exam to prevent her from reporting him.
