House set on fire as family slept in Inca

THE home of a well-known builder in Inca was set on fire ‘deliberately’ while he, his wife and two children were asleep, police said. They were treated at hospital for smoke inhalation and minor burns.

When the person who started the fire is found they will be charged with attempted murder.

Fire-fighters who extinguished the flames at number 32, Calle Miguel Angel in the Son Amonda district informed the Guardia Civil of their belief that the fire was started intentionally. Guardia Civil confirmed that the fire was “without a doubt started deliberately”.

The fire was started in three different places; in the hallway, master bedroom and children’s bedroom. Evidence was collected that flammable products were used to fuel the fire.

The main door lock had not been forced nor showed signs of violence, Spanish newspaper Ultima Hora reported. This means that it is likely the person who started the fire is known by the builder.
