Boy faces 12 years in jail for ‘holiday weed’

BALI, INDONESIA – A holiday in Bali is most people’s dream, but for one 14 year old school boy from New South Wales, Australia, it turned into a nightmare.

A few days after he arrived to the resort with his parents he was arrested for possession of drugs after buying 3.6 grams of cannabis worth $28 near Kuta beach, close to his hotel.

As Australian Ambassador Greg Moriarty tried to negotiate his release, the boy was locked up at the notorious Kerobokan prison where killers, drug dealers and sex offenders mix freely.

Wearing a bizarre Hannibal Lecter style mask to prevent being identified, the boy was later moved to the less intimidating Jimbaran Immigration detention centre.

With further pressure from the Australian Government, the boy will be put on trial this week. If found guilty the schoolboy could be sent back to Kerobokan prison for anything between 4 and 12 years.

LOS ANGELES, USA – American actress Lindsay Lohan appeared at the LA county morgue as part of a 360-hour community service sentence.

Earlier Lohan had been ordered to be jailed by a LA County Superior Court Judge after violating the terms of her probation for shoplifting. She had missed 9 appointments for her community service at the Downtown Women’s Centre. Now she must spend 120 hours tending to the dead in the county morgue.

AHMEDABAD, INDIAFIVE year old Aditya Bhalchandai son of the owner of the Mansarovar hotel, “could have been killed” said police, after the 20-year-old Payal, niece of the hotel owner arranged the boy’s kidnapping for a ransom to help her boyfriend out of trouble over gambling debts.

Two men on a motorbike had collected the ransom, and police followed them to Gujarat College and found the boy being guarded by her boyfriend, Nishant Sethe, police say that the young Aditya would have been killed either way, if the ransom had been paid or not.

BERLIN, GERMANY – Jobless and in debt a 27-year-old unnamed man has been arrested by the police for setting  light to more than 100 cars motivated by envy and frustration.

Most of the cars were luxury and high priced makes such as BMWs and Mercedes.

“I’ve got debts, my life stinks, and others have fancy cars and are better off than they deserve.,” the accused later said.

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Virgin Airlines are renown for their excellent take off punctuality, but a pilot trying to fly without his plane is unacceptable.

The pilot in question was recovering in hospital after being blown off the stairs leading to the Boeing 737 as he went through pre flight checks.

The thrust from the engine of a Qantas 747 jumbo blew away the aluminum stairs the pilot was standing on. A second officer was treated for minor injuries, however the pilot broke his leg and arm.

Now an official inquiry is in place to find out how the Jumbo 747 belonging to Pacific Blue a subsidiary of Qantas came to be flying so close the Boeing 737.

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL – In the land of the holy, Jerusalem, cones filled with ice cream have become a symbol of disgust and anger.

An ultra-orthodox Jewish sect have attacked the Zisalek ice cream parlour in the Mea Shearim neighbourhood, also posting posters asking that people should not buy the ice cream cones.

The reason given is that people seen leaving the parlour are licking the cones, this according to ultra-strict Sikrikim group is disgusting and promotes sexual promiscuity.

The owners of the ice cream parlour introduced separate entrances for men and women, but this did not satisfy the religious zealots, who vandalised the premises.

Owner Guy Ammar said that “the local residents like us and told us not to give up”
