Clean-up time in Salobreña

SALOBREÑA Town Hall has requested the owners of abandoned houses and plots in the town to clean them up.

This is part of a plan to improve the general appearance and salubriousness of the town, in which municipal plots and parks are also being brought up to standard.

The local urban development department has sent orders for local plots with rubbish and weeds to be cleaned and the façades of houses to be repaired in according with a Junta de Andalucia law which establishes that the owners of properties must keep them in adequate conditions of safety, cleanliness and adornment.

The owners have between 10 days and one month to get their properties in shape, otherwise they will face fines. However, the town hall reports that so far the response has been positive. They say it is important for the image of the town to be improved both for the benefit of tourists and local residents.
