ALMERIA Civil Protection volunteers have received training in rescue techniques to be used in the case of an earthquake.
Thirty volunteers from Almeria Provincial Government’s Civil Protection Department took part in the courses held at the old brick factory in Benahadux where they were taught by the Spanish GEA SAR earthquake rescue specialists.
The aim is to train them in techniques which may be needed in the province as Almeria registers frequent seismic activity. They will also be able to give information to the general population on how to behave in the event of an earthquake to increase the chances of survival.
