Singapore to San Miguel in 50 years

ON the 11.11.11. Arthur and Vera Day celebrated their 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary with a big party in San Miguel de Salinas.

Showaddywaddy helped make the night an evening to remember. All their friends and neighbours whom they have met during their 7 years in Spain helped them to celebrate their anniversary.

The year was 1961 when Arthur and Vera pledged those infamous words “I Do”. Arthur said “I met my wife, Vera, whilst I was stationed in Singapore in the Army.

We got married in Singapore and returned to England in 1962. After 3 years of working in ‘civvy street’, I decided to join the Royal Air Force.

During my years in the RAF I was posted abroad many times and we always travelled as a family. We have 3 fantastic children and 3 wonderful grown up grandchildren”. “We love our life in Spain and look forward to spending many more happy years together.”
