A 93-YEAR-old woman from Portol was forced to spend the night out in the open, according to a Spanish Press report.
She had fallen into a metre-and-a-half deep hole on a construction site just 50 meters from her home.
It was not until around midday the next day that the elderly lady was found by a family member. She was suffering from hypothermia and had cuts on her hands and legs and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The elderly woman lived alone. Police said this is why nobody noticed her absence until the next morning when her son went to visit her and realized she was not there and had not spent the night there.
He discovered her after searching the surrounding area for his mother.
