A FIVE-STAR hotel is due to open before next summer in Almerimar thanks to the refurbishment of the Hotel Golf.
Work is being carried out on schedule, according to Spanish local newspaper El Almeria, and should be finished in April, although another couple of months are needed to get it ready for clients.
It has been more than five years since the 30-year-old hotel was closed, and when surveys were carried out, they showed that the structure of the oldest area would have to be demolished, while the other, just 15 years old, which is where the new part is being added, remained standing.
Work has progressed well and the hotel is taking shape.
Although the initial budget was €18 million, the money spend has been much more, due to the reformation of the golf course and the construction of a club house which opened in 2010.
The U-shaped hotel will have excellent views over the course, as well as an à la carte restaurant, indoor and outdoor parking, pools, gardens, 500m2 salon and will be using renewable energies where possible.
