THE Balearics and Canary Islands were among 20 destinations that were most searched for by Europeans in 2011.
Danes, Norwegians, Swedes, French and Swiss were the nationalities that searched for Mallorca the most, according to Hoteles.com.
The Dutch and British searched for Santa Eulalia del Rio in Ibiza the most. Italians favoured Menorca. British, Irish, Danes, Norwegians, Swedes, Finns, Germans, and Dutch searched the most for various locations in the Canary Islands.
Other Spanish cities that made the list were Benalmadena, Barcelona, Madrid, Alicante and Lloret de Mar.
