Half of Torrox police off on leave

TORROX Town Hall has reported that half of the Local Police force is on sick leave or on holiday.

After the local left-wing party, Izquierda Unida (IU), complained about the need to solve the problems which have existed within the force for years, the mayor, Francisco Muñoz, admitted that half of the 30 officers in the town are not on duty.

He pointed out that some of the officers who are on leave are part of the UPLB-Andalucia union “who demand lots of rights and forget their obligations”.
