Creative cuisine and classic theatre

A LOOK at the Javea Players new venture into competitive marketing.

The idea of combining a first class dinner with a fascinating theatre production, conjures up images of Edwardian sumptuous elegance, available only to the crème de la crème of fashionable society.

But thanks to clever cooperation between the Javea Players and the creative kitchens of restaurant La Cocina, this touch of evening magic will be available to all between the production dates of March 19th and 23rd inclusively.

The special two course pre-theatre menu selected from a large variety of dishes, is priced at €15 per guest including a carafe of wine.

A great price for a restaurant that is famous for its quality cuisine.

Add this to the theatre ticket cost of €7 for around two hours of entertainment, and even in these dark days of financial instability, the offer represents excellent value for money.

Javea Players are known for their adventurous choice of productions and this is no exception.

Directed by Cherry Cabban, the Players will be performing, The Ancient Mariner, a dramatised version of the famous poem written by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, adapted by Michael Bogdanov and staged at the Javea Players Studio, behind Bookworld, between March 19th and 23rd, curtain up 8.00 p.m.

‘A feast for the eyes and ears with Sea Shanties which will have you tapping your feet, emotionally reacting to the moving words from the poem and joining in the spirit of an 19th century wedding feast.’

This production will also be performed in Alcalali at the Careline Theatre on March 31st by kind permission of the Careline Theatre Company.

A spokesperson for the Javea Players explained that this new venture is part of an adventurous marketing strategy to attract new members and offer greater diversity and value to both its existing members and supporters.

This is the first of many ideas being adopted by the new JP management committee, headed up by Norman Dunnington and sponsored by Blacktower Financial Management Limited of Javea.
