Double Celebrations at the RBL

AT a Gala dinner to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of The Royal British Legion, Doreen Peplow was awarded the great honorary of The Royal British Legion gold badge.

This badge is awarded for outstanding service to the objectives of the Legion. Also attending the event was Eddie Hefferman, the Overseas Representative on TRBL Board of Trustees, and Chris Simpkins the Director General of TRBL.

Doreen was one of the founding members of The Royal British Legion Mijas Costa branch, and has helped guide the branch to the standard and strength it is today.

She has held various posts, becoming chairman 2003-2006 and 2009-2011.

Since joining in 1995 Doreen has helped people in many ways and offered advice and assistance to bereaved families.

One of her interesting feats to raise funds for the Poppy Appeal was a sponsored climb up Machu Picchu Mountain in Peru where she ‘planted’ a poppy.
