Torrox reports four fires on Sunday

TORROX Town Hall has reported that there has been a wave of fires which were intentionally started in the town.

Last Sunday alone there were four fires which showed evidence of having been started deliberately, and which, with the high temperatures and winds made the task of the Infoca firefighters more difficult.

The local Civil Protection volunteers reported that some 40 Infoca agents worked to control the fire with the Guardia Civil and volunteers, as well as the only Local Police officer who was on duty at the time.

The Infoca has yet to quantify the exact area destroyed by the fires which were in the areas of Manzano Alto, near the Radio Torrox boosters, on La Rabita hill and at a greenhouse near the mouth of the Gui river in El Morche area.
