Salobreña’s newest resident

A NEW resident has arrived in Salobreña, and seems set to stay, a stork which can be seen in its favourite spot on the roof of Casa Emilio restaurant.

For more than a year and a half, at night it has been staying around La Fuente Park and in the daytime, when it’s not on the roof, it can be seen on the beach, and even comes to get food at the restaurant, poses for photos and lets local residents touch it.

The Buxus Environmentalist Group prepared a home for the stork in Motril, but it preferred to stay in Salobreña and for the past five months has been seen in the company of a mate.
