Go-ahead for Nerja sewage plant

THE Mayor of Nerja, Jose Alberto Armijo, announced that the conditions for the construction of the local sewage plant have been included in the Official State Bulletin.

The Nerja sewage plant is the only one remaining to be created on the Costa del Sol to complete the complete sanitation of the province.

The total investment for the project will be more than €40.5 million plus VAT and it should be finished by 2015.

The mayor said that he was pleased to have “such important news for the town” and explained that the Secretary of State for the Environment, Federico Ramos, had given the project the go-ahead.

The project has now also been approved by the European Union.
