AQUALIA, the company supplying water to Denia, has raised the possibility of increasing its charges by €16 a water bill for all customers of the town.
The proposal was made last month by the Water Board of Denia and is now on the table to be addressed at a full council meeting on April 24.
Mayor, Ana Kringe, has said that the local authority does not agree with it and argued that an inflation-rate-only increase would be more appropriate.
The matter will be more fully investigated and debated at the forthcoming session.
