POLICE and marine rescue teams have intercepted immigrant boats off Benalmadena, Nerja and Motril.
A small wooden craft detected 12 sea miles south of Benalmadena had 18 occupants. It was so overcrowded that it was about to sink, police sources said later.
Earlier that night a Salvamento Maritimo team rescued another boat south of Nerja carrying 17 North Africans.
A further 30 were intercepted off Motril.
All were adults and in good health, sources said.
