A GRAND charity Fun Day took place in La Zenia.
More than €2,225 was raised over the day. It was shared between Cruz Roja and the Royal British Legion.
The Fun Day was organised by Eddie Coleman and Jean Heald. It started with a march to La Zenia Village led by the Torrevieja Pipes and Drums, following behind was the Orihuela Costa’s new Branch mascot Megan an Irish Wolf Hound.
Also the Standard’s of RBL Branches and other ex service organisations and their members marched proudly along the route.
The salute was taken by the British Vice Consul for Alicante Carolyn O’Reilly, the Councillor for the Coast, Pedro Mancebo and the Chairman of The Royal British Legion Spain North, Chris Wyatt.
The day was officially opened with a speech from Mancebo.
A full afternoon of entertainment followed with the bars, BBQ and visitors buying raffle tickets, cakes, bric-a-brac plus several other stalls. Keith Carter, Branch Chairman and Eddie Coleman Vice Chairman said they would like to thank everyone who helped raise this amount and to all who assisted over the day.
