HUNDREDS of people gathered in Plaza Mayor to watch Spain’s first Euro 2012 match against Italy.

The Spanish goal just minutes after the Italian one had the people of all ages literally jumping with joy. Red and yellow flags can be seen hanging from balconies and windows across the Costa del Sol as the nation puts its economic woes aside, if only for a few weeks, turning their collective hopes for another championship win for La Roja, as the squad is known,
