STRAWBERRIES and cream were the preferred diet on Saturday morning, when the Anglican Congregation of St. Andrew in Puerto Pollensa held their Strawberry Fair.
The Fair was also part of the congregation’s Jubilee Celebrations, so Union Jacks and red, white and blue bunting were very much in evidence.
For the first hour there was lots of patriotic music, followed by guitar and saxophone jazz from Santiago, Guilermo and Fabian, who gave their services for free.
The proceeds from the Strawberry Fair will go towards the Church’s donations to charity, raised by purchases from stalls selling cakes, plants, bric-a-brac, books, jewellery, crafts and preserves, not to mention the consumption of over 16 kilos of locally grown strawberries!
