MODIFICATIONS have been made to a developer’s plans to construct 427 homes and a hotel in Nerja after plumbing issues brought the project to a halt.
Despite construction having begun in March 2011 just south of the A-7 highway in Fuente del Baden, developers had to make adjustments due to unforeseeable problems with the underground plumbing in the area.
The Junta de Andalucia paused all construction on the 170,961 square metres of land after they received reports regarding the subterranean channels in the area.
In July, Nerja Mayor Jose Alberto Armijo signed a decree allowing modifications to be made to what was originally a €3 million project.
At a cost of €780,000 extra, developers are going to construct only 20 of the 427 homes for the time being.
