The man responsible for assaulting two police officers was caught again.
THE man allegedly responsible for hospitalising two Alicante police officers is the same one that investigators arrested then released to the Valencia Immigration Detention Centre. As EWN has reported, earlier this month two local Alicante police officers were hospitalised after a group of ‘manteros’ or illegal beach vendors allegedly attacked them.
The vendor who supposedly beat one of the officers with a wooden chair resulting in serious head trauma is now in police custody. He is the same individual, a Senegalese man aged 31, that police detained hours after the August 4 incident; however, due to lack of evidence he was released to the regional Immigration Detention Centre. The suspect was sent back into the Alicante Provincial Police’s custody after more evidence was uncovered possibly linking him to crimes.
