Tourism looks good but fewer Spanish

POSITIVE: More International tourists visited Andalucia this summer.

THOUGH fewer Spanish headed to Andalucia for holidays last month, overall, this year is proving reasonably positive for local tourism. The number of domestic visitors is expected to show a four per cent drop for last month, accompanied by a six per cent fall in overnight stays.

Even so, Rafael Rodriguez, the Councillor of Tourism and Commerce of the Junta de Andalucia, Rafael Rodriguez, has announced that in the same period overnight stays by international tourists increased by around six per cent.

This he says shows the strength of tourism in Andalucia, a region that offers “best quality packages” and he predicts a decent good overall year given the present economic crisis.
