Casares - Malaga.
A MAN standing trial this week for the murder of a Finnish woman faces 17-years in prison. He allegedly suffocated and chopped the victim to pieces, throwing them into the sea.
A suitcase belonging to the woman was found at a cabin where the suspect was staying. “I am not so stupid as to kill her and then take her things with me”, he argued.
The suspect had stayed with the victim for three weeks in Casares and said he last saw the victim when she left for Germany. “I did not want to stay there because she was always complaining, taking pills and alcohol,” he said. Despite having spent time in jail, he said he was not a violent person.
