PAWS STALLS: Including donated clothes and jewellery.
BAD WEATHER halted a golf tournament planned at Valle D’Este to raise funds for PAWS, the animal rescue charity. But a fashion show also planned went ahead, even though Glad Rags from Albox who were scheduled to show their Autumn collection were unable to travel due to traffic disruption on the motorway.
The fashion show went ahead – as well as a buffet lunch – with a catwalk display of clothes from the PAWS boutique and stalls run by PAWs and PAWS Cats selling donated clothes and jewellery.
Bill White was MC introducing the show aboard the imaginary Cruiseship, Napoli, on its journey around Italy. He entertained as the volunteers modelled day and evening designer wear, suitable for an onshore excursion or a seat at the Captain’s table.
Lady Ellen was unable to attend as she was stuck in mud on the other side of Bedar. However Bill White stepped in and sang a few songs while Ann Webber gave an impromptu Fashion Workshop.
Karen Polansky who arrived straight from the shelter said ” Fashion goes on and so does PAWS great and good work, despite the rain causing excessive damage to the entrance road.”
After the show Janet Franklin, the organiser, hosted an auction and raffle, ensuring another overall successful fund raising event. The golf tournament will now be rescheduled by organiser Brian White from BWI Insurance in Mojacar.
