TAXING: Alicante’s coffers set for €15million in car taxes.
ALICANTE city hall expects to receive just over €15 million in car tax between now and December. There are 211,849 registered vehicles in Alicante city, 2,206 fewer than in 2011. The amount due on each ranges from €21 to €193 depending on the vehicle’s age, horsepower and engine capacity.
Another €6.5 million will come from the Economic Activities Tax (IAE) paid by the 3,785 businesses within the city – 39 fewer than last year. More income will be received from the rates on 3,569 rural properties within the municipal boundaries, which this year should bring in €142,500, predicted Finance councillor Juan Seva.
