FIFTY-SIX per cent of Spaniards connect to the internet with portable devices outside the home or work. Mobile phones, PDAs, MP3 and MP4 players and e-book readers were used by 45 per cent to access the internet over the past three months. Another 35.4 per cent used laptops or mobiles found INE, Spain’s statistics office.
Overall, wi-fi is the most common connection with 44 per cent of users, followed by 39.8 per cent who use smart phones. Two out of three Spanish homes now have broadband with the highest numbers found in the Madrid Community (78 per cent) and Balearest (73.9 per cent).
