Tim planning 280-mile walk for Alzheimers

TIM ATKINSON plans to step out on a week-long 280 mile (450 km) walk in aid of charity. The fund raiser – scheduled to begin on Sunday, October 21 – will see 37-year-old Tim walk from Torrevieja to Madrid in Aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK.

So far he has raised €4,500. The walk will begin at 7am from the Alzheimer Centre, Torrevieja, and will end at the Alzheimer Centre in Madrid.  He will walk the equivalent of about 40 miles per day.

Two years ago Tim ran the Torrevieja half marathon in aid of  the local Alzheimer’s centre in Torrevieja.  This time money raised will go towards the research of Alzheimer’s, helping people not only in Torrevieja but globally.

“Having witnessed my grandfather suffering, it is an awful disease, not only for the person, but also for the family,” Tim said A number of events have been held throughout the summer to help boost the funds raised, and Tim plans to continue to raise money until the end of the year.
