A US citizen sought by the FBI for abducting his 12-year-old son was arrested in Tenerife last week.
Father and son disappeared from America after custody of the boy, named Kevin, was awarded to his mother in Georgia.
Spain’s Guardia Civil became involved and the search moved to the Canary Islands after the FBI sent their details to Interpol. A hired car and several enquiries to bilingual schools in Tenerife aroused their suspicions, resulting in last week’s arrest. The owner of their rented apartment said that relationship between the 49-year-old father and his son was normal and the child “looked happy.”
