GUARDIA CIVIL officers sailed to the rescue of four crew who were spotted aboard a broken masted yacht.
Having been alerted by a sailor in Benalmadena port that the yacht was in danger of capsizing, the Guardia´s Maritime Service sent a patrol boat and semi-inflateable launch to help. They found the crew clinging to the mast but unable to put it upright because of the strong winds just south of Torremolinos. After boarding and helping to fix the mast into place the officers evacuated a woman and her son to Benalmadena.
