HOTEL representatives in the Costa del Sol will enhance their technological knowledge and acquire new professional skills under a new cooperation agreement with the Andalucia Lab technology centre.
Members from the Costa del Sol Hotel Businessmen Association (Aehcos) –gathering 350 businesses and 80,000 seats – will do a string of activities, including workshops, conferences and research programmes.
The aim is to optimize resources in the hotel business industry, applying new technologies and specialized knowledge. For example, they will be taught how to maximize their Internet reputation and public profile, so this will include managing social networks, mobile phone solutions, web analytics and 2.0 sales channel management.
“Most hotels in the Costa del Sol run their own website enabling online room booking. The first step is done, so now we have to look ahead towards new sales channels, the social networks and phone solutions,” President of Aehcos Jose Carlos Escribano said. He added that applying new technologies is one of the three main priorities for hotel businesses, along with corporate social responsibility and job hiring promotion.
