Skies turn pink for AECC

AECC FUNDAY : The Pink Ladies are joined by the councillor for the coast Pedro Mancebo (centre left) and members of the government team

HUNDREDS turned out in support of the AECC cancer charity fun day held at Evolution bar in La Fuente Commercial Centre.

With live entertainment, a fashion show by Tiger Feet, face painting and a pool competition there was fun for all the family. Councillor for the coast, Pedro Mancebo and his government team arrived to show their support for the event which has raised thousands of euros for the charity’s early detection cancer screening programme.

The main event happened at 4pm with the release of almost 1000 pink helium filled balloons in to the blue sky. The balloons were bought for €2 each and an address tag attached. In the coming weeks it is hoped that the tickets will be returned to the AECC by whoever finds them and the balloon that travels the furthest will win the owner €100.

Maria Wilson, President of the AECC Torrevieja branch was delighted with the turnout and thanks the owners of Evolution, John and Jack Williams for their support, along with their mum Karen who is one of Maria’s Pink Ladies and an avid fundraiser.
As Maria went on to thank all her Pink Ladies who helped throughout the day, The Euro Weekly News would also like to thank mechanic Adam from Autos Direct who helped get our reporter back on the road after the event.
