UNSIGHTLY: Flood debris still on beaches.
DEBRIS and waste caused by the rains in September are still piled up on the beaches of Mojacar. The town’s Socialist party has expressed its ‘surprise’ that this ‘unhealthy’ situation has not been dealt with yet by the PP mayor Rosa María Cano.
The party singled out the El Congo and Rumina beaches for their state and said the rubbish was attracting plagues of mosquitoes and it was bad for the image of the town.
Socialist spokesman Manuel Zamora said: “Besides looking terrible as they can be seem from Avenida del Mediterráneo, the piles of debris are causing a permanently unhealthy situation.”
