ASSOCIATIONS’ DAY: Campoverde Reef Band is just one of the many acts on stage throughout the day
A HOST of activities are planned for Torrevieja’s Associations’ Day this Sunday
As part of the town’s Patronal Fiestas, Sunday has been set aside for a get together of the clubs and associations based in the so called ‘city of salt.’
Starting at 10.30am the event is being held in the fiestas marquee next to the fairground in the harbour area.
Fifty associations of all nationalities will take part in the exhibition of culture and gastronomy.
Included will be the Costa Lions Club (Lions International); environmental group Rutas y Caminos de la Sal; the Nosmo King Club; TRAC (Torrevieja Retired Activities Club) and the Royal Air Forces Association.
Alongside the marquee Torrevieja Cricket Club will be offering a display and the Classic Car club will set up its own exhibition on the seafront promenade, Paseo Juan Aparicio, next to the Hombre del Mar statue.
An extensive programme of entertainment will accompany the exhibition with live music from local artists that will continue into the evening.
British musical representation will be in the form of an hour long concert from the recently formed Campoverde Reef Band, made up of six former professional British musicians.
They will be on stage during Associations’ Day from 1.30pm.
