According to the Department of Housing figures, the cost of Spanish property is around the same as that in 2002.
Due to the economic climate, property value has taken a hard knock. Although the figures are not positive in terms of increasing, the market has become open to more people who previously could not afford property within Spain. On average, property value has decreased by around 9.5 percent since 2011 figures. Areas on the coast of Spain have been worse affected by the decrease in figures and struggling to increase its slump in prices.
