MANY Almeria city education centres participate in the regional government’s ‘Forma Joven’ programme aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle among students by dealing with a wide range of issues.
One of the centres making the best use of the programme is the secondary education institute (IES) Albaida. The institute’s counsellor Maria del Carmen Torreblanca told daily IDEAL the centre holds workshops and class discussions by medical professionals as well as special activities in order to raise awareness about smoking, bulimia, anorexia, drug consumption as well as sexual education.
