MONKEY BUSINESS: Mascot helped promote local avocados
AN association to promote local Andalucian products handed out 200 kilos of avocados in Arroyo de la Miel.
The ‘Yo? ¡Producto andaluz! (Me? Andalucian Produce!) Association handed out the fruit on the corner of Avenida de la Constitucion with Avenida de Blas Infante. The association’s president, Bartolome Florido, was present, as well as the local councillor for Commerce, Ana Macias.
“Benalmadena Council has once again decided to give its support to this initiative which aims to promote the purchasing and consumption of produce grown in our own region” Macias said.
Florido also pointed out that avocados are very healthy as they have components which help fight cholesterol as well as containing Vitamin E which delays the aging process and is an antioxidant. It also has vitamin D which helps the body to absorb calcium and phosphorus and balances blood sugar levels.
