Elche family hit by London bus

NEIGHBOURS and friends in Elche are in shock after learning that a local mother has died after being hit by a bus in London.

The woman and her two children, from Altabix, were struck by a bus as they crossed Charing Cross road in the capital city.  All three were taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington where the forty-four year old mother later died from her injuries.  The children’s father was with them but it is thought he did not attempt to cross the road and was not injured. They were due to fly home to Spain the following day but he is now planning to stay in London until his daughter, aged 18, is well enough to travel home.  She has now been released from hospital.  His son, aged 11, is believed to have suffered minor injuries.  Police believe the family may have looked the wrong way before stepping into the busy road.
