TWO Hospital de Poniente workers have been arrested after a string of thefts.
The maintenance workers at the El Ejido hospital are accused of stealing computers, and cash between November and December last year.
National Police were also investigating a series of thefts of personal items from staff lockers, as well as money from coffee and food vending machines.
Police determined that all the thefts occurred either at night or on weekends and that those responsible had access to restricted areas within the hospital as well as the necessary tools to break into the vending machines.
The investigation led to the arrest of two workers aged 37 and 48. El Ejido National Police was praised by hospital bosses, who said the thefts had left them very worried.
