2013 is the sixth year of recession and the continuing battle of the economic crisis. The New Year brings with it an increase in prices of general services including transport, fuel, mortgages, tobacco, postal services and electricity.
The rises will mean even more people will continue to struggle to make ends meet in general day to day living.
Finding ways to save money during this time is difficult but some helpful consumer associations give some tips on how to save those valuable euros. In order to save money when shopping at the supermarket, buy own brands and make a list of items you need. Save water by having showers instead of baths and ensure to fill up dishwashers and washing machines and turn down your central heating thermostat and limit central heating use to save on electric and gas bills.
