THE Costa Blanca is to be promoted as a year-round tourist destination, rather than just as a location for summer holidays.
The Valencian Government is planning to attend the International Tourism Fair of Madrid (FITUR) to promote the region, and not merely as a location for sunbathing and lounging on the beach.
“If you like the mountains, we have, if you like culture, we have, we have something that covers the full spectrum of entertainment of any person,” said Minister of Economy, Industry, Tourism and Employment, Máximo Buch
For the first time the Costa Blanca stand will encompass all the areas and aspects as a single exhibitor.
Although less space will be hired at the exhibition this year to reduce costs, more will be packed into the stand.
The main objective for the Costa Blanca region is to convince tourists to come “not only in the summer,” said Buch.
The Provincial Tourism Board will promote four different themes at the FITUR stand; coastal, interior, food and culture, and all under one umbrella embracing Benidorm, Castellon Mediterranean, Valencia Terra y Mar, the Costa Blanca and Valencia.
