‘Illegal’ eviction looms

A COUPLE say they are being illegally evicted from their rented Torremolinos home.

According to Yolanda and Toni, their landlady is charging a monthly rent more than double allowed by Andalucian law.  The house is a state subsidised property (VPO) and falls into a special rent regime.

The eviction was scheduled for today (Thursday), but it has been put off until Thursday, January 24, thanks to the action of Stop Desahucios (Stop Evictions) protest group members.

The couple, currently unemployed, said that they have not received any solution so far from the Andalucian Home Department.
