Malaga look to get back on track

MALAGA will look to get their season back on track when they take on Celta Vigo at home this Saturday (10pm) having lost two matches in a row.

A Lionel Messi inspired Barcelona had a comfortable evening at La Rosaleda as they maintained their perfect away record with a 3-1 victory over Manuel Pellegrini’s men, who slipped out of the Champions League places and into fifth spot.

The opening goal arrived on 27 minutes when a careless backpass from Ignacio Camacho was seized upon by Messi, who twisted and turned past Caballero before slotting home right-footed into an empty net.

Any hopes the Costa del Sol outfit had of getting back into the game were dashed five minutes after the break when Fabregas latched onto Messi’s chipped pass and tucked the ball past Caballero.

The visitors continued to display their trademark possession football and eight minutes from time substitute Thiago made it 3-0 after playing a one-two with Messi and firing home from outside the area.  Malaga did eventually get on the scoresheet six minutes later when Diego Buonanotte, introduced in place of Eliseu, curled a free-kick into the top corner.
