PEGO’S new underground car park already has problems.
The car park was handed over to the town hall on December 13 after the contractors, Antalsis, agreed to carry out any necessary repairs.
A month later, these are already necessary. Owing to construction flaws, the pavements wear out in days and the asphalt above the car-park is cracking.
Another five-centimetre layer will have to be applied to prevent leaks.
The €1 million project soon ran into trouble, as the first contractors went bankrupt three months after tearing up the asphalt in the Antic Regne. Antalsis took over in August 2011 but the budget rose by €117,000.
