Four locals in running for Goya

FOUR Malaga born people are nominees for the 2013 Goya National Film Awards. The Spanish version of the Oscars will be held on February 17 in Madrid.

Antonio de la Torre has two nominations, one for Best Actor in a Leading Role for the police thriller ‘Unit 7’, and the other for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for the war film ‘Invasor’.  De la Torre already has one Goya to his name for his supporting role in the drama ‘Dark Blue Almost Black’ in 2006.

He has alo been nominated twice before for best leading actor.

De la Torre’s partner in ‘Unit 7’ Joaquin Nuñez, producer Carlos Taillefer (for documentary ‘Contra el tiempo’) and screenwriter Ramon Salazar for the adapted screenplay of romantic drama ‘I want you’ are the rest of the Malaga-born nominees.   

The most nominated films are ‘Blancanieves’ (18 nominations) and ‘Unit 7’ (16). Both titles are put up for the Best Film award, along with ‘The Artist and the Model’ and ‘The Impossible’.
