ABANDONED: The old 50cc deserves a better ending at the scrap yard.
UP to 168 abandoned vehicles were removed by the Local Police from the streets of Fuengirola and sent to a scrap yard last year, local council reported.
From these, 68 were cars, 21 motorcycles, 57 mopeds, five bicycles and one camper van.
“The vehicles’ owners should take care of doing the necessary paperwork, which is basically going to the Traffic Office (Trafico) to unregister it,” Citizen Safety councillor Rodrigo Romero said. “Although people are getting aware of this, sometimes they don’t and the vehicles end up looking all dirty and rusty, which is not the image we want for our town.”
