IT’S service with a smile the sci-fi way at a restaurant in China where food is cooked and served by robots.
Robot Restaurant in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, has 20 robots cooking dumplings and noodles and delivering food to the customers. They even speak, ushering customers in to the restaurant saying “Earth person hello. Welcome to the Robot Restaurant.”
Each robot can work continuously for five hours before it needs recharging.
There was an investment of 5 million Yuan (€600,000) in creating the restaurant, with each robot costing 200,000 to 300,000 Yuan (€25,000 to €35,000).
