A DRUG network that was allegedly trying to smuggle 93 kilos of cocaine into Spain for distribution in Almeria has been wound-up by the National Police.
Five people in Galicia and two in Malaga were arrested as alleged members of the gang.
The drugs were supposed to be smuggled to Spain via Chile from Bolivia through Algeciras Port (Cadiz) before being sold in Almeria. But Chilean customs seized the packs of cocaine which were hidden inside blocks of marble, before they were shipped to Algeciras.
Spanish and Chilean customs and police liaised in the investigations, leading to the arrest of the alleged gang members.
