Driver jailed after killing disabled pedestrian
A DRUGGED and drunk driver hit and killed a disabled pedestrian, hid the body then used his victim’s credit card.
Now Diego Jose FS has been jailed for two years and fined €700.
He pleaded guilty at a Huelva court to homicide and fraud. The deceased, Ramon Cuaresma, who was physically and mentally disabled, was walking towards his home along a pavement in Paseo Nuevo when FS’s vehicle mounted the pavement and hit him.
Cuaresma was struck on the knee, fell face down and died instantly. FS put the body into the boot of his car and drove it eight kilometres before dumping it. He then drove to a petrol station, washed his car and paid for €27 of petrol with a credit card that he had stolen from the dead man’s wallet. He tried to obtain €100 with the card but the operation was denied by the bank, but he did succeed in taking €50.
