Spain plans to boost competition in the petrol market

SPAIN’S government is planning measures to boost competition in the petrol market. At the moment the market is dominated by Spain’s Repsol, British BP and privately held Cepsa.

Now, Spain will make it easier to obtain licences to open new petrol stations in commercial centres and on Industrial estates. The process to grant permits for new petrol stations will be standardised in every region in Spain.
